On September 12, the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (GA) opened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York with Miroslav Lajčák as president of the session.
On September 11th, 2017, the United Nations General Assembly closed its 71st Session focused on Sustainable Development, as outgoing President Peter Thomson passed the gavel to his successor Miroslav Lajcak, President of the 72nd Session set to convene at the UN Headquarters on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017.
On International Children’s Day – celebrated June 1st – the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Embassy of the Czech Republic organized a conference in the Magistral Villa, Rome, for raising awareness on the drama of children who are victims of armed conflicts.
On June 1st, 2017, international Children’s day, the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Order and to the Holy See will be hosting the international conference entitled “Children victims of armed conflicts” in cooperation with UNICEF, the European Union, the Council of Europe and the Holy See Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
