In early March, Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill was invited to speak at the Eurasian Higher Education Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. His topic was in response to the higher education of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Firstly, the Ambassador made a visit to a center for the education of Syrian refugees in the town of Kilis in southern Turkey, and then travelled across the Syrian border to visit a hospital which is supported by Malteser International, the crisis response arm of the Order of Malta. Afterwards, he went on to a nearby refugee camp inside Turkish occupied Syria that is operated independently by the refugee community.
