On the 4th of November Theresa Bulfon Addressed the Third Committee on Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Disscrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, led by Special Rapporteurs Ms. Ashwini. Ms. Ashwini explored the dynamics between racism and conflict, highlighting Sudan. The Sovereign Order of Malta reaffirmed its commitment to combatting racism by emphasising the importance of dismantling the structures that sustain racism. Identifiying racism remains one of the first key steps to combatting it. This becomes especially important with regards to emerging technologies such as AI. Combating racism and intolerance does not only include moral conviction but the enforcement within legal frameworks and ethical governance.
