On 3 July 2025, H.E. Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill, Permanent Observer of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, met with H.E. Ambassador Charles Masole, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Botswana. Ambassador Beresford-Hill welcomed Ambassador Masole to the UN community and shared the Order’s commitment to humanitarian work in Southern Africa, highlighting ongoing projects in healthcare and education.
Ambassador Masole expressed appreciation for the Order’s outreach and affirmed Botswana’s openness to new partnerships, noting the government’s focus on human rights, dignity, and inclusive development. The Ambassadors also discussed Botswana’s engagement within the UN system and shared perspectives on regional development and cooperation opportunities.
Both agreed to remain in close contact to explore practical avenues for collaboration, with a focus on shared priorities in humanitarian assistance and inclusive development.
