International Youth Day 2022 Roundtable Discussion, Covered By Attaché Mr. Daniel del Valle Blanco
12/08/2022

The theme of the International Youth Day 2022 “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages” seeks to raise awareness of ageism, particularly against Youth, and to highlight the importance of intergenerational approaches in ensuring all voices are recognized and meaningfully engaged in advancing the 2030 Agenda. Especially as we “build back better” from the COVID-19 pandemic, we must foster successful and equitable intergenerational relations and partnerships to ensure no one is left behind.

In this context, UNICEF, the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Act4Food Act4Change, the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), The Baha’i International Community, Justice Call, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, organized a roundtable discussion among youth experts, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to commemorate International Youth Day 2022.

The roundtable provided an opportunity for stakeholders from around the world to exchange views on the topic of transforming education, digital inclusion, and Youth.

The Sovereign Order of Malta was represented by Mr. Daniel del Valle Blanco, Attaché for Political and Youth Affairs, who moderated one of the break-out rooms on Innovation for transformation and digital protection.
