On January 29th, 2025, H.E. Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill met with H.E. Ambassador Sandra Jensen Landi, Deputy Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations.
Ambassador Landi has an extensive background in the Danish foreign ministry. Before coming to New York, Ambassador Landi has served her country in Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Washington DC and Afghanistan. Her field of focus at the United Nations is the Security Council, which was reflected in her discussion with Ambassador Beresford-Hill.
Ambassador Beresford-Hill shared details of the Order’s work in the Middle East, particularly its recent increased relief efforts in Gaza, citing the ongoing shipment of aid from Cyprus, as well as its efforts in Syria.
The meeting showed a clear alignment between the Order Malta and Denmark humanitarian efforts, both having significant operations dedicated to this endeavor in numerous regions across the globe. As the meeting concluded, both ambassadors agreed on the importance of continued dialogue and exploration of collaborative opportunities.
