Today, Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill, CBE, KM, signed the condolence book established by the United Kingdom’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations, expressing sorrow at the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
In his message the Ambassador noted that Queen Elizabeth was the last global institutional link between World War II and the 21st Century era. Her passing represented the closure of a reign marked by relative peace throughout the world and he hoped that her life would serve as an example for future generations, encouraging peace through service to others.
