During his visit to the United Nations in New York for the General Assembly’s opening session, the Grand Chancellor, Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, engaged in several significant bilateral meetings. He met with the Foreign Ministers of the State of Palestine, the Republic of The Gambia, and the Republic of South Sudan, as well as the Apostolic Nuncio and Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, and Foreign Minister from the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States.

The Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, led by Permanent Observer Ambassador Dr. Paul Beresford Hill and Deputy Permanent Observer Ambassador Peter McGuire, was represented by a delegation comprising Fiamma Arditi di Castelvetere, Fra’ Nicola Tegoni, Dr. Michael Espiritu, James E. Buckley, Ravi Tripptrap, Felipe Victoria-Grueso, and Deborah O’Hara Ruskowski. This delegation actively participated in a wide range of meetings during the 78th Session of the General Assembly, spanning from the opening session on September 19th to the closing session on September 26th.
