On the 3rd October 2023, Diplomatic Trainee Mr. Conor C. Maenpaa delivered a statement specifically highlighting how the Sovereign Order of Malta focuses on “combating the root causes of crime, poverty, inequality, and social exclusion.”
The statement was given at the United Nations’ Third Committee 6th Plenary Meeting on agenda items 107 & 108 regarding ‘Crime prevention and criminal justice’, and ‘Countering the use of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes’.
He concluded his remarks by reiterating the Sovereign Order of Malta’s unwavering commitment to promoting justice, equality, and human rights, through emphasising the Order’s indispensable role in promoting the rule of law and the common good in all areas of the world where we operate.
