The Open Debate was convened by the Permanent Mission of Denmark, and the meeting was presided over by H.E. Lars L\u00f8kke Rasmussen, Foreign Minister of Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Beresford-Hill strongly condemned any practice that purposefully harms civilians by depriving them of food. He highlighted the Order\u2019s recent side event on Global Food Insecurity at the 2026 Munich Security Conference which included representatives from the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the United Nations Development Programme, the World Food Programme, and the Food and Agriculture Organization.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated that disruptions to supply chains have made it difficult for the Order of Malta to support people in its humanitarian operations, and our colleagues have reported seeing significant wasting and growth stunting in children in the West Bank.
