Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill, Permanent Observer of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, met with H.E. Ambassador Walid Obeidat, Permanent Representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations, to discuss opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the Sovereign Order of Malta and Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting focused on areas of shared interest, including the promotion of interfaith dialogue, humanitarian cooperation, and recent initiatives to strengthen respect for international humanitarian law.<\/p>\n<p>The two Ambassadors also exchanged views on the forthcoming High-Level Conference on International Humanitarian Law, to be held in Amman in December 2026, and discussed ongoing efforts to galvanise international commitment to the protection and promotion of international humanitarian law.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere and reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Jordan and the Sovereign Order of Malta.
