On 26th<\/sup> March, the Sovereign Order of Malta Mission hosted a reception for interns and trainees of Permanent Missions to the United Nations, bringing together an inspiring and diverse group of young professionals from across the globe. A total of 57 interns attended, representing more than 26 countries, an embodiment of the international spirit that defines the work of the Mission and the United Nations at large.<\/p>\n

The reception provided a valuable opportunity for interns to connect, exchange experiences, and reflect on their shared commitment to multilateralism.<\/p>\n

Everyone had an opportunity to view a short video outlining the Order’s global humanitarian Mission and celebrating the 30th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the Order’s presence as a Permanent Observer at the United Nations.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Beresford-Hill addressed the attendees, highlighting the core mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta: to serve all individuals, regardless of race, gender, or religion. His remarks underscored the Order\u2019s long-standing neutral and impartial, humanitarian mandate and its continued relevance in today\u2019s complex global landscape.<\/p>\n

Importantly, he emphasized the significance of youth engagement, both within the United Nations system and beyond.
