Ambassador Nicolas de Rivi\u00e8re, Ambassador of France to the United Nations"},"featured_media":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-1743","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-delegation-and-staff","news_categories-news","news_tags-breaking","news_tags-evidence","news_tags-focuson","news_tags-news"],"acf":{"hidden_news":"no","evidence":"yes","focus_on":"no","breaking":"yes","news_content":"<p>Ambassador Beresford-Hill met with Ambassador Nicolas de Rivi\u00e8re, the Ambassador of France to the United Nations on 12 June 2023 at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>They enjoyed a fruitful conversation, reminiscing about their respective government\u2019s mutual engagements throughout history, including the 1798 conflict with Napoleon Bonaparte.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Beresford-Hill shared with Ambassador de Rivi\u00e8re the Order of Malta\u2019s recently ratified procedure on human trafficking, as well as the Order\u2019s extensive international humanitarian efforts, including the Order\u2019s activities in France, <em>via <\/em>the French Association, and other &#8216;Francified&#8217; territories.<\/p>\n<p>The two Ambassadors also engaged in serious discourse about their mutual concerns regarding international affairs, particularly Western Africa, Lebanon, and Syria<\/p>\n<p>The meeting concluded on the topics of the French government\u2019s relationship with the Sovereign Order of Malta, and the Sovereign Order of Malta\u2019s relationship with other humanitarian agencies.
